By Ram Kinkar Singh: Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi on Wednesday inspected the construction site of a multi-level stack car parking at Nigam Bodh Ghat in Kashmiri Gate. A multi-level stack car parking space is being developed by the Delhi Municipal Corporation in addition to the existing parking facility at the Ghat, with a capacity of 95 cars.

The Ghat is regarded as one of the biggest and busiest cremation grounds in North Delhi and is often troubled by jam-packed routes. The project is set to bring major relief to commuters on the stretch between Hanuman Mandir and ISBT.

During the inspection, officials of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi briefed the mayor about the project’s work plan and the facilities to be developed on the premises. She directed officials to ensure that the work on stack parking is completed within two months.

“The AAP-led MCD is committed to completing the project within the specified timeframe,” Shelly Oberoi said.

Meanwhile, the work on Block 3, with a capacity of 44 cars, is expected to be completed by July 31.
