Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao to BRS MPs: Boycott President Droupadi Murmu Parl address, expose BJP failures | Hyderabad News

[ad_1]

HYDERABAD: Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday chalked out BRS strategy for the budget session of Parliament, directing party MPs to boycott President Droupadi Murmu‘s address as the first move in the planned showdown with the BJP-led central government.
This will also be the first show of defiance in Parliament by BRS against the Centre after its national metamorphosis. Thereafter, BRS MPs will utilise the session to strategically expose BJP government’s “mistakes and damages wreaked on the country through lopsided policies, and also how it blocked development of a progressive state such as Telangana”.
Compel the BJP government to tell the nation why it set up financial and developmental obstacles against Telangana,” K Chandrasekhar Rao told party MPs.
Earlier, his MPs had boycotted former President Ram Nath Kovind‘s address in the last budget session.
At a parliamentary party meeting at Pragathi Bhavan, the CM told his MPs to expose the BJP government’s economic irregularities and how it handed over the people’s money and nation’s wealth to corporate friends, waived loans of crores of rupees and allowed them to enjoy profits, while making the common man suffer.
“Take support of individual MPs and like-minded parties to tell the nation from the floor of Parliament how the gubernatorial system is being misused by BJP to its political advantage. Raj Bhavans are being used to undermine the state’s authority, usurp state powers and wreck the nation’s federal spirit,” KCR said.
The meeting lasted for over four hours with party MPs expressing concern on Centre’s policies that caused immense damage to the country.
“Their policies have become obstacles to unity, integrity and development. It’s shocking how the central government is handing over the hard-earned money of people to corporate friends. In public sector companies such as LIC, shares are being transferred to big businessmen. And the country is watching the hollow foundation of these corporates, whose shares are plummeting every day. The BJP government is making irreparable loss by privatising the country’s assets and hushing up financial irregularities of corporate friends. BRS MPs should condemn the dangerous economic policies in both Houses of Parliament,” KCR said.
The chief minister also came down heavily on the central government for using governors as their agents to weaken the states and directed his MPs to raise this issue in Parliament.
Governors are supposed to be a bridge between the Centre and states, while performing constitutional duties.
“Governors are deliberately delaying assent to decisions of the cabinet and legislatures,” he said.
Assurances made to Telangana in the State Reorganisation Act are not being implemented, so raise your voice and bring these issues to the notice of the nation, KCR said.

Arvind Kejriwal, Pinarayi Vijayan, Akhilesh Yadav by his side, Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao targets BJP | Hyderabad News

[ad_1]

HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) supremo and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao succeeded on Wednesday in getting top politicians from three regional parties, including three chief ministers, to share a stage with him at a public meeting in Khammam.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann came together with Samajwadi Party chief and former Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav and CPI national general secretary D Raja in front of a massive audience.
BRS leaders termed the meeting a game-changer in the country’s politics as no party leader had held such a massive rally with other party leaders in tow in recent years. Although still early days, many in BRS are hoping that the Khammam public meeting will help other parties and leaders come closer to BRS ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
For the past four years, KCR has been working on a non-Congress, non-BJP alliance of regional parties. In the past couple of years, he has met several CMs and former CMs, including TMC’s Mamata Banerjee, DMK’s M K Stalin, Hemant Soren, Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray. Although not present at Khammam, former Karnataka CM H D Kumaraswamy has been a regular face at key BRS events.
KCR and the other leaders in their speeches gave an indication of the issues the alliance would raise. Despite the ongoing debate on freebies hurting the economy, KCR promised free power to all farmers across the country within two years of forming government.
Both Kejriwal and Mann spoke about how governors were being used by the Centre to unsettle non-BJP state governments and the manner in which central investigation agencies were being “misused” to target the opposition.
KCR in his speech charged successive governments at the Centre with failing to address various issues, especially those related to power, water and settling inter-state disputes. Around 150 retired bureaucrats and experts working on schemes and drafts are ready, he stated.
He declared that BRS’ journey would continue with like-minded parties in the future, especially with the Communist parties. He also said if his coalition forms government in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, it would scrap the Agnipath scheme. “Modi’s slogan is the government has no business to do business, but my slogan is government has every business to do business wherever required,” KCR said.
He declared that if PSUs like LIC are sold, a BRS-supported government at Centre would bring them back to government. The same would be the case with Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, he said. “The country has 70,000 tmcft of water and 1.40 lakh MW of power, but we cannot provide free power to agriculture sector and provide drinking water to every household,” he added.

Make in India has become ‘Joke in India,’ says Telangana CM KCR at BRS rally | Hyderabad News

[ad_1]

KHAMMAM (TELANGANA): Taking a dig at the BJP-led Centre, Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday said the ‘Make in India‘ initiative had become a ‘joke’ in the country.
During his address at Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS)’s first public meeting in Khammam, party chief Rao said free power would be given to farmers across the country if a ‘BRS proposed government’ came to power at the Centre in 2024.
“Make in India has become Joke in India. There is Make in India, but there are China bazaars in every street (in the country),” he said ridiculing the NDA government’s flagship programme.
He further said if BRS comes to power, the Agnipath scheme for recruitment in Armed forces would be abolished.
Schemes like Telangana’s Rythu Bandhu (for the welfare of farmers) should be implemented throughout the country and it is his party’s slogan and demand, KCR asserted.
He slammed the BJP and Congress, alleging that both the parties are responsible for interstate water issues.
He said the BRS is opposing tooth and nail the ‘disinvestment of LIC’.
Presided by BRS President Rao, the meeting was attended by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, his Kerala counterpart Pinarayi Vijayan, CPI General Secretary D Raja and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav.

Telangana: K Chandrasekhar Rao has hotline with PM Narendra Modi, says Rahul Gandhi; skirts Bhagyalakshmi, Mecca Masjid | Hyderabad News

[ad_1]

HYDERABAD: Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday sharpened his attack on TRS and BJP, claiming that Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has a hotline with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and acts on his directives.
Addressing a street-corner meeting at Necklace Road after paying floral tributes at Indira Gandhi’s statue, he told crowds that Telangana government led by KCR and BJP government-led by Modi work in tandem.

“Do not be under the impression they are rivals. CM KCR has a direct line on which Modi orders the next move for KCR,” he alleged. Scotching speculation of religious stopovers during his Hyderabad walkathon, Rahul Gandhi skirted both the Bhagyalakshmi temple and the adjacent Mecca Masjid in the Charminar area.
Buttressing his claim, the Gandhi scion said TRS extended full support to almost every bill introduced by BJP in Parliament. “What’s more, TRS always raises other issues to divert attention of the House from an issue raised by Congress and other opposition parties against the BJP government,” he alleged.
Rahul Gandhi landed at the historic Charminar in the evening to unfurl the national flag at the spot, where his father, late Rajiv Gandhi unfurled the tricolour, 32 years ago marking the commencement of Sadbhavana Yatra.
Asserting that PM Modi was handing over ports, airports, roads, telecom, LIC and PSUs to his ‘rich friends’, he expressed surprise that Hyderabad airport was still not owned by rich corporates. KCR was also busy snatching lands of Dalits and tribals using the data on Dharani portal in the night and kept himself busy in minting money in irrigation projects during the day, he alleged.
